In mid-February, two pit bulls attacked Fort Worth resident Marcus Kizaza in the 8400 block of Star Thistle Drive. The dog attack, captured on a doorbell video, occurred in Marcus’ yard. The man’s wife and family were inside the home, but Marcus’ wife, Leslie, says they did not see the attack occur. Marcus finally escaped into the house and slammed the screen door shut to escape the attack.
The Victim Remains in the Hospital
At last report, he was still in a Fort Worth hospital after the dogs bit him numerous times on the face, legs, and hands. The dogs bit off a large piece of the victim’s nose, and doctors say his face may never be the same again.
Dogs Euthanized
Chris Lirette with Fort Worth Animal Control says the owners surrendered the dogs. Authorities euthanized them and sent their remains for rabies testing. He adds that the owner has received multiple citations. The officer said they would issue a public information request if they needed further information.
